Very interesting! But Maastricht needs to get solid European routes! For example München, London or even Paris. Maastricht can’t survive with only seasonal flights...

Would not count on Transavia returning to Maastricht.

It is not a question if Transavia will return to Maastricht, but when. Due to slotrestrictions there can be (almost) no more growth in Amsterdam. Rotterdam is also almost full as is Eindhoven. Therefor next airport in line will be Maastricht, maybe not (yet) for summer 2019, but if slot problems will continue it will happen.
The recent decision by Ryanair probabaly gives some "slot air" at Eindhoven. Transavia start volgend jaar zomer vakantievluchten vanaf Brussels Airport. De KLM-dochter ziet daar nieuwe kansen, nu de ruimte in Nederland schaars wordt en het nog altijd niet duidelijk is wanneer Lelystad Airport open gaat.
“Marktonderzoek onder onze klanten toont aan dat er behoefte is aan vluchten vanaf Brussel”, meldt een woordvoerder van Transavia desgevraagd. De luchtvaartmaatschappij keek ook naar Maastricht Aachen Airport, maar daar is de catchment area ten opzichte van Brussel een stuk kleiner.
