Maastricht januari 1986.
Tja, na die eerste maanden met een British Island Airways BAC-1-11 vier keer per week tussen London-Gatwick en Maastricht gevlogen te hebben, wilde Virgin Atlantic nu dagelijks gaan vliegen. Alleen werd de BAC-1-11 aan de kant geschoven. Daarvoor in de plaats huurde men een Vickers V806 Viscount van British Air Ferries die in Virgin kleuren werd gestoken. V806 G-AOYP was de gelukkige, die heel toepasselijk Maastricht Maiden genoemd werd. De Maastricht Maiden was in den beginne elke dag present, maar gaandeweg kwam het regelmatig voor dat BAF een andere Viscount, of viskont zoals wij de kist oneerbiedig noemden, inzette. Maar dat ziet u weer in een andere aflevering...

Maastricht January 1986.
Well, after Virgin flown LGW MST in the first months 4 flights a week with a leased BAC-1-11 of British Island Airways, it was time to start a daily service. Bye bye BAC-1-11, hello Vickers Viscount V806. The Vicount was leased from British Air Ferries in full Virgin livery and G-AOYP registrated. She was named Maastricht Maiden. The first months it was Always the G-AOYP but lateron it happend frequently that other Viscount's were operating the flight. To be continued in some other episode...
