Did something change about the night curfew? I noticed the Zimex ATR had landed around 6.15, while for instance the Saudia has to hold until 7.00. Is there an exception made for smaller cargo planes?

The press release about the “ban” of the Antonov planes also mentioned the following as policies to reduce the noise for the local residents:
So, according to the airport freighter movements between 6 and 7 are allowed, making it very strange that today’s Saudia had to hold for almost 40 minutes...
Kind regards,

Yannick

The restriction is still valid, just an exemption for the zimex for a few weeks.

Please do not take news published by news sites for granted,.. most of the time they publish incorrect information!

If you check AIP Netherlands you will find under 2.3.12 Operational Hours the following remark:

Cargo flights MON-SUN: 0600-2200 (0500-2100). (note these times are UTC)

So all cargo aircraft have to use these operational hours.

The airport made an exception for the Zimex flights to arrive before 0700L because of runway works at BHX between 05-11-2018 and 07-12-2018.
After 07-12-2018 these flights also have to land after 0700L again.

Regards,
Mark

Just a general question among fellow forum members,
How likely do you guys think Alibaba is gonna choose Maastricht over Liegé?

As I've seen more and more news articals talking about Maastricht being a serious candidate again!
It's all part of the negotiations , I don't count on it .

For more info. see website Aviation24.be news Liege airport.

e.g. ABC started to fly from Liege planning is to grow up to 30 weekly flights.

.........and also Uni Top airlines will start with 3 weekly flights to China.

Keep also in mind the difference in opening hours with MAA and the strong support of the Belgium administration . ( both Wallonian and federal )
Acc, Alibaba , european section, first planes are en route to Liege . ( as expected ) More info can be found in the papers . ( financieel dagblad )
