I wrote about the refugeeflights of the Balkanwar to Maastricht as Yugoslavia was unsafe for lot's of people. Initially JAT and Aviogenex were the operating airlines but as they actually belonged to Serbia and Montenegro, who were the agressors in the war, the two airlines were boycotted in European Airspace. Balkan Bulgarian Airlines took over the flights with their Tu-154's in the late spring of 1992. So a bunch of Balkan Tuup's in one day started to get a common sight. However, they came on Tuesday instead of Saturday and they were hard to catch for me as I had a full time job.
But Tu-154-B2 LZ-BTC could not escape on my camera as I cought it while taxing out to the 22 on a nice summerday in May.
On pic 2 you see the same Tupolev in the old Balkan livery during a charterflight in the summer of 1987, unfortunally taken with my pocketcam.
The LZ-BTC flewn for Balkan only from 1973 on. It is scrapped at Sofia after being wfu in 1998.
