After 2 years of Hispania Se-210's and Boeing 737-200's during the winters of 1986/1987 and 1987/1988 towards Las Palmas, Hispania flew also summercharters in 1988 to Las Palmas, twice a week. As the fuelconsumption of the Caravelle's and the B737-200's were high, Hispania leased some B737-300's and 2 B757's. The high leaseprices were the reason Hispania could not sustain their operations so in 1989 they went bankrupt.
B737-300 EC-EHJ was delivered to Hispania in 1988, brandnew as EC-135, a temporary Spanish measure in those days while waiting for the final registration, leased from AWAS. After the airliner bankruptcy the Boeing moved to America West Airlines as N509DC. Slovak Airlines took it over in 2002 as OM-AAD, and thereafter it went to Air Italy as I-AIGL. Ansett Australia used it as N636AN, and nowadays the 737 seemed to be stored at Mirny Airport in Yakutia.
On a cloudy day in May the EC-EHJ was captured while ready for taxi:
And during her take off on the 04:
Some weeks later I catched her while taxiing to the A-apron after a 04 arrival.
