EAS Cargo Airlines was not a regular visitor at MST. Mostly they came in operating charterflights. They haul vegetables to MST, but also cattle towards African destinations. EAS cargo had initialy one DC-8, but lateron they had 4 BAC-1-11’s for PAX operations, 1 DC-8 freighter, and 4 B707 freighters. Former UAS Cargo 5N-ASY was one of them. The Boeing entered the airways for the first time as N362US for Northwest Oriënt. Via Cathay Pacific and Nigeria Airways it rolled into the UAS fleet. In the early and mid Eighties UAS was also every now and then at MST on charterbase.
DAS Air Cargo took over the B707 in 1992, still as 5N-ASY. This airframe is scrapped in 1995, carrying the registration EL-AKL.
The best picture of this B707 is taken in the winter of 1990 after arrival, while taxiing to the B-apron.
In the late winter of 1989 I captured her for the first time, while holding position on holdingpoint 22.
In the spring of 1986 I captured the 5N-ASY for the first time, unfortunally with my pocketcam while reversing on the 04 operating for UAS Cargo.
