In the mid Nineties American International Airways/Kalitta started frequently flights between Ypsilanti and Maastricht. AIA/Kalitta used DC-8, 747, and L-1011 TriStar freighters for those flights. And somestimes Gemini Cargo helped AIA/Kalitta out with their DC-10's. In the summer of 1998 DC-10-30F N604GC showed up on a Sundaymorning from Ypsilanti. Later Atlas Air and Polar Air Cargo took over these flights, but the technical stop at Shannon, due to the short runway at MST forced them to replaced the flights to Brussels I believe.
This Ten was build in 1974 for Lufthansa, were it was registrated as D-ADDO. in 1996 Lufthansa replaced the Oscar by an Airbus A340. The DC-10 was sold and converted to freighter. Gemini Air Cargo took her over and used the DC-10 untill 2008.
Her you see the N604GC rolling to the turningpoint 22 on that Sundaymorning:
In January 1993 I spotted this airframe as Lufthansa DC-10-30 D-ADDO at Düsseldorf:
